Slated Hotel and Casino Resort
Editorial standards for the Slated Hotel and Casino Resort pages, written by the Wythern House Foundation.
Whose hand is on the page
Each page on this site is written by the duty manager of Wythern House Hotel and Casino Resort and reviewed by a member of the Wythern House Foundation before publication. No copy is bought in. No copy is generated by an automated system without the duty manager’s hand on it. The reviewer’s initials and the month of review are recorded in the Foundation’s papers; the date of the last review is shown at the foot of every page.
Where a guest, a contractor, or a trustee has supplied a piece of text — a description of a service, a note on the building, a clarification on the casino resort floor — the duty manager rewrites it in her own voice before it is set down. We try to keep one register across the site, so that the reader is not addressed by three speakers at once.
What we check, and how often
We aim to describe the hotel and casino resort exactly as a guest will find it. Where a fact changes — a room added or moved, a service altered, a rate raised — the page is amended within the same week, and the previous text is retained in the Foundation papers for two years. We do not embellish, we do not recommend, we do not soften unflattering details. If a corner of the house is shabby, the page says so. If you find a fact wrongly stated, the duty manager would like to be told.
The full set of pages is read aloud in the library on the last Friday of February each year by the duty manager and one trustee, against a printed copy from the previous year. This is the slowest part of the keeping; it is also the part the Foundation has, in its papers, most often refused to delegate.

How to raise a correction
To raise a correction, write to the duty manager at house@wythernhouse.com, or by post to the address shown on the contact page. We will reply, in plain words, within two weeks. Where the correction touches a fact about the casino resort floor, the duty manager will refer the matter to a trustee before answering, and the reply may take a working week longer.
